On May 8-9 a merry band of wood butchers participated in our first Legacy Service Project. The chosen project was to rebuild the cook shelter on the back of the Buck Mountain Cabin at Camp Shepard. Originally scheduled to take two weekends, this hearty group of intrepid nail benders was able to demolish the existing shelter and complete the new structure on the first weekend. The Lodge partnered with the council to share the costs of materials. This shelter will provide the campers at this cabin a dry, safe area to cook or have a small campfire on those winter camp weekends.
We hope this is the start of a long list of Legacy Service Projects our brothers provide to the council.
Many thanks to our great volunteers.
